Frequently Asked Questions

When do I have to RSVP?

We ask that you RSVP by July 1st, 2025.

Your wedding date isn’t until September 28th. Why is your RSVP deadline so soon? It’s not customary to ask for RSVPs with a Save the Date.

Worry not! We are not asking you to RSVP before you receive your formal invitation, although you can if you wish. As much as we a throwing a party for ourselves, we also want you — our most cherished family and friends — to feel special, too. We need a total guest count to ensure that we are able to provide the best guest experience possible, as there are a lot of details to iron out that are dependent on who will be in attendance. If we don’t receive your RSVP by July 1, 2025, we cannot make exceptions and will have to mark you as not attending. We hope you can understand!

I booked a room at Hotel Cleo/Hyatt Place for Sunday, September 28th. Your ceremony starts at 4:45 p.m. When can I check-in to the hotel?

Hotel Cleo: You will see on their website that check-in is at 3:00 p.m. However, the hotel worked with us and ensured all our guests can check-in on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Hyatt Place: You will see on their website that check-in is at 4:00 p.m. However, guests can call ahead and request an earlier check-in, as earlier check-ins are honored as space permits. Please note that there may be an additional fee associated with the service.

We don’t want to stay at Hotel Cleo/Hyatt Place and/or all the rooms are booked. Where should we stay?

We’re so happy you’re staying in Knox! There are plenty of other accommodations available in downtown Knoxville and the surrounding area. We suggest checking out Embassy Suites by Hilton as it is within close walking distance from Hotel Cleo and Lilou Brasserie. Additionally, you can look at Airbnb options, too! Ultimately, we want you to stay where ever it is that you feel comfortable. In any case, we encourage you book your accommodations as soon as possible.

Where should I park?

Once you arrive at our ceremony location at Ijams Nature Center, there will be parking attendants to guide you. After the ceremony, we will be moving downtown for the reception. We suggest you park at State Street Garage (500 State Street, Knoxville, TN 37902), which is a short walk from Hotel Cleo and Lilou Brasserie. If you are checking into a hotel downtown before the ceremony, such as at Hotel Cleo, we also suggest you park in State Street Garage; alternatively, most hotels downtown, including Hotel Cleo, provide valet service for an additional fee.

Can I bring a plus one?

We have so many incredible family and friends that we would love to be present if the space allowed for it. However, due to limited space, we can only accommodate guests who are formally invited.

Are children welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, our wedding is exclusively for adults, unless your little is specifically named on the save the date and formal invitation.

What’s the dress code?

The dress code is formal attire. We suggest guests wear a suit in any color or a cocktail dress (or full length if you wish!) However, while this will be a formal event, we love you and care way (way) more about your presence than what you’re wearing. If you have a formal suit, evening dress, (or tux) that’s great! If you don’t, that’s also okay, too. The last thing we want is for the wardrobe to be the reason we don’t see your smiling faces on our big day.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

We kindly ask that you put your phones and cameras away during the ceremony. We want you to be present with us in the moment. Plus, we will have a professional photographer capturing the ceremony for us, and we trust her to capture all the magic!

Will there be an open bar?

We will have a limited open bar with a three course dinner. Additional drinks will be available for purchase.

I still have questions. Who should I contact?

You can reach out to Jeanette Harville, Mother of the Bride, at 423-300-8594.
